Going Digital

We would like to thank Mr and Mrs Evans for their very generous donation of a laptop computer in recognition of all the pre-school has done for their sons. We have also received a grant of ?100 from Devon County Council locality budget towards the purchase of a digital camera and printer to enable the children and staff to record their daily activities. Thank you to Councillor Alan Connett for facilitating this.

Red Nose Day

The children helped to raise ?97.56 towards Comic Relief by dressing up as their favourite character and making and selling cakes. The staff entered into the spirit of the day by dressing up in High School Musical outfits, to the great delight of the children (and parents)!

Easter Hunt & Picnic

Last term finished with a picnic and Easter chick hunt on a gloriously sunny day in April. While the parents were making the most of the sunshine, the children were kept busy making Easter baskets, hunting for chicks around Deepway green and exchanging them for goodies.
Parents also had the opportunity to look at their child?s profile, a portfolio of observations, photos and art work compiled over the year. Under the key-working system, a great deal of time and effort is spent documenting a child?s progress and planning his or her next steps. Seeing my son?s portfolio brought home just how skilled the staff are at planning a broad range of activities which enable the children to learn through play.

And finally? if your child is coming up to pre-school age and you would like to know more about the pre-school, please get in touch. We hold a formal open day in September but you are welcome to visit us at any time to talk to staff and explore our wide-ranging facilities.
