Community Groups - Youth Project
Exminster Youth Project is open on Tuesday nights from 7 – 8.45 pm, for years 7, 8 & 9, at a cost of 50p per young person. It is located at the Westbank Healthy Living Centre in the Cyber Café and the Events Studio. EYP enjoys a thriving and bustling session on Tuesday evenings, where numerous fun and energetic activities take place.
On Thursday nights, EYP runs a drop-in centre for young people generally age 13 and older. Located in the Cyber Café from 7 to 9pm, Thursday nights are of a more “chilled out” nature. Young people may come and go as they please on Thursday nights.
EYP works in partnership with Devon Youth Services which is part of Devon County Council. DCC provides training, staff supervision, guidance, etc.
Young people are encouraged to contribute to the running and organising of the project. Much of the programming is determined by the young people themselves with the help of senior helpers.
Activities include but are not restricted to: music, games, sport, crafts, film making, healthy food, computing, quizzes, pool, relaxation and just meeting friends. They are often themed to address social, health, environmental, personal and other issues.
These sessions are run by experienced youth workers (paid and volunteers). If you would be interested to help with a particular activity, on one or more occasions, then please contact Kevin Pike (email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).
