Milbury Farm Update Feb 2012

MilburyUpdate on housing development at Milbury Farm Exminster from Exminster Parish Council

Many residents are concerned to know when work will be starting on the site and how the site will be managed. Linden Homes (formerly Midas Homes) who bought the site will be starting work any day now. The working hours have been agreed with Teignbridge District Council (TDC) and will be
Monday - Friday 7.30 - 5.30, with no use of power tools or heavy plant until 7.45 am
Saturday 8.30 - 1.00
There will be no working on a Sunday or Bank Holiday.

The site name Linden Homes have chosen for marketing purposes is “Milbury Reach”. Residents most affected by the build should expect a newsletter directly from Linden Homes.

As many of you have noticed the AA have put the yellow sign up in the wrong place i.e. pointing down Milbury Lane.  This sign should be moved in the coming week back down to Milbury Barton, near the entrance to the village. The development site has been divided into three areas – Area A at the motorway end of the development (which will be developed first) and Area C above Gissons (which may not be development for another 2 years); these areas are still owned by Linden Homes. Area B, behind the Stowey Arms and Glebelands has been sold to another developer and will probably not be developed for 18 months. A map showing the development will be available in the Victory Hall window.

We expect that correspondence about the development will be on the TDC website and maybe worth keeping an eye on that:- http://gis.teignbridge.gov.uk/TeignbridgePlanningOnline/Results.aspx?Type=Application&Refval=10/02194/MAJ

How ironic that the most prominent photo in the Linden Homes new brochure is just like this one - the field that they have now built over.

The brochure also uses a large photo of the church in Kenton but with text that gives the impression that it is in Exminster. Why?
