Exminster Pre-School News: Feb 2011

It’s been another busy term at Exminster Pre-school, with lots of new children starting. The children have been busy learning through role play, with a focus on ‘Home’, and they’ve enjoyed cooking currant buns, making jelly and learning about foods from around the world. In February, they can look forward to making smoothies and cooking sausages on a camp fire, as well as a trip to the Orange Elephant.
Valentine’s Disco
We will be holding a special Valentine’s Disco on Thursday 17th February from 4.30-5.30pm at the Deepway Centre. Invitations to all Pre-school and Reception children will be sent out soon.
Table-Top Sale
We are currently organising a Table-Top sale, which will be open to all members of the community. This is a great opportunity to clear out all those items you no longer need and hopefully make some money at the same time! It is £5 for a table and you keep all the profits from your sale. The sale will take place at the Victory Hall on Saturday 19th March from 2-4pm. Planning is still in progress but the event will be publicised around the village very soon. There is limited space and tables MUST be booked in advance. To register your interest or book a table, please contact Anne Snell on 01392 832763 or speak to any Committee member.
Deepway improvements
We are currently preparing a proposal for the Deepway Trust to weatherproof the decking in the garden. This is part of our on-going commitment to improve our facilities and will enable the children to spend even more time in active outdoor play.
AGM
Although still some way off, we will be holding our AGM in June and will be looking for some new Committee members, including a new Treasurer. If you would like further information about what’s involved, please contact the Pre-school Committee Chair, Louise Stacey.

Afternoon Sessions
We now offer afternoon and full day sessions for the ‘Rising 3’s’, ie those children who are two-and-a-half years old but who turn three during the term. Please contact the Pre-school Manager, Leah Barnes, to discuss your requirements.
